MICHAEL J. GOLDBERG has almost 20 years of experience representing all parties in workouts, foreclosures and bankruptcies, including lenders, debtors, creditors committees and landlords.
Mr. Goldberg received his B.A. cum laude from Yale University in 1978, and his J.D. cum laude from Fordham Law School in 1986. A member of the Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey bars, Mr. Goldberg is a frequent lecturer on bankruptcy topics, particularly on the impact of bankruptcy issues on real estate transactions. In 2004, he co-chaired the "Bankruptcy Law Forum," the flagship bankruptcy program of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. He has also chaired MCLE's "Bankruptcy for Real Estate Lawyers" program, and is a contributor to the treatise Chapter 11 Theory and Practice: A Guide to Reorganization. A member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the Turnaround Management Association, and the Boston Bar Association's Bankruptcy Law Committee, Mr. Goldberg is also extensively involved in a number of charitable and community organizations. Most recently, he served as President of the Greater Boston Chapter of the American Jewish Committee, and continues to serve as a member of its national Commission on Contemporary Jewish Life. He has also served as a Town Meeting Member for the Town of Needham, Massachusetts.
